thankfulness journey

As I began my journey towards thankfulness as I read One Thousand Gifts by Ann Vos Kemp.

I will be adding random posts of thankful thoughts to this journal or blog as you want to call it.

This has been a very raw emotional journey through painful memories of my own that I am
coming to terms with as I become grateful to God for being there through it. I am now seeing how to cherish the gifts He gives daily, freely. And we take them for granted.

Thankful gifts

1. spring peepers at dusk

2. children's laughter

3. thunderstorms at night

4. wind chimes tinkling in the wind.

5. my beautiful girls smiles

6. piano music

7. a cup of tea with a friend and a Bible

8. the feeling of pure joy..

9. a good book

10. getting to spend time in God's word.

My crazy school year

This year has been a crazy year. I had all intentions of using this blog to keep a running record of our learning year with my girls. But life seemed to once again show us no matter how well I planned for our Day by Day with the Weaver Curriculum, I ended up falling short. Between doctor appointments, two surgeries, and a slew of other things that only God knew was on our course, our learning year became a journey of real books read during sickness, a math notebook being kept, and God. This was a very difficult year. But God was there, He picked us up ,dusted us off, and reminded me that His grace is sufficient for me in my perfect weakness. So to this we have learned that even though I didn't have an amazing homeschool year, next year can be better.
